Scanning and other details

These plates were scanned from two volumes. Both are complete.

The first was once the property of F.W.Kuhlicke, B.A., F.S.A. Some of its plates are dirty, and some are damaged.

The second volume was once presented to the library of Westminster College, Cambridge, by the Reverend Professor John Gibb, D.D., in 1915. It is in better condition, but its binding makes it impossible to open the plates out flat. Westminster College provides ministerial training for the United Reformed (presbyterian) Church.

The former was used for scanning wherever the plates were in reasonable condition; otherwise the later was used, for the title page and for plates number 37-41, 52-57, 60, 61, 67-70, 72, 73, 82, 83, 86-88.

The single full plates are 233mm by 367mm; the double, 367mm by 463mm.
