Scanning and other details about this work.
The plates presented here are all of Irish herladry. The work also contains maps of the counties of Ireland: 32 plates, one for each county. But the printing, and in particular the colour registration, is so poor that I have not bothered to scan them. Philips' Handy Atlas of the Counties of Ireland has better county maps, much more cleanly printed, from what appear to be the same plates.
The first plate listed below is of no interest itself, it is provided for people who want to use it to look up the coat of arms of an Irish family. To do so, select the index page, zoom in until you can read it, and note the number following this name, e.g. "38" for "Desmond". Then return to this page, and follow the link to the page of that number.
I am sceptical about the reliablity of this work. See, for instance, Coat of Arms no. 42, on plate 6. What does the stippling of the dexter side of the shield mean? If the image were printed in monochrome, it would indicate that the shield is divided per pale or and argent; but the whole field is printed or.
